$1.2M Available for eligible Local Governments across Arizona

Applications for the Arizona Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program (RFGA#: RFGA-EECBG-OOR-082724-00) are now being accepted. Approximately $1.2M will be awarded to eligible local governments throughout Arizona. The purpose of the Arizona EECBG Program is to assist eligible local governments in creating and implementing strategies to:

• Reduce fossil fuel emissions in a manner that is environmentally sustainable and, to the maximum extent practicable, maximizes benefits for local and regional communities;
• Reduce the total energy use of the eligible entities;
• Improve energy efficiency in the transportation sector, the building sector, and other appropriate sectors; and
• Build a clean and equitable energy economy that prioritizes disadvantaged communities and promotes equity and inclusion in workforce opportunities and deployment activities, consistent with the Justice40 Initiative.

The maximum grant award amount is $100,000 per grantee, to be used over a 2-year period. The grant application will close on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 5:00 PM (MST). The Governor’s Office of Resiliency invites grant applications from Arizona units of local government that were not eligible for direct EECBG funding through the U.S. Department of Energy.
